Carbon Reporting Efficiency

Business software specialist Greenstone Carbon Management has this week launched a new application designed to help firms respond to information requests from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

The functionality, which has been added to the company’s existing Acco2unt software suite, allows firms to automatically convert their carbon emissions data into a report compliant with the CDP’s annual requests forinformation on large firms’ climate change policies.

The investor-backed CDP sends information requests to more than 2,500 companies globally, asking that they provide information on their greenhouse gas emissions, climate change risks and environmental policies.

“We find the CDP’s quantitative reporting requirements can be a time-consuming exercise for reportees,” observed Greenstone chief executive Matthew de Villiers, adding that the software’s new functionality would allow CDP reportees “to complete all quantitative elements of their CDP report at a touch of a button”.
