Perspective on Icelandic Volcano GHG Emission

Last week, a student asked whether the volcanic eruption in Iceland emits GHG emissions that dwarf C02 emissions from man-made sources. After the disclaimer that I am not a climate scientist, I answered that to the best of my knowledge, volcanic eruptions are perturbations of long term human-induced emission trends.
